Quarzite Bianca
Mylonitic orthogneiss with medium to fine grain-size, heterogeneous in places. The light colour is due to the abundance of quartz and feldspars. The foliation is well defined by thin layers of phyllosilicates (white mica and chlorite) and flattened aggregates of quartz and feldspars. Mineralogical composition: quartz, plagioclase, scarce K-feldspar, white mica, scarce chlorite and rare biotite, ± Fesulphides. |
