Serizzo Sempione

Well-foliated granitic orthogneiss. Fine-grained with homogeneous texture, rarely with augen texture. Pale grey in colour due to minor occurrence of biotite with respect to the Antigorio and Formazza varieties. Mineralogiocal composition: quartz, K-feldspar, plagioclase (An 25-30%), biotite and muscovite.
