Serizzo Monte Rosa

Serizzo Monte Rosa

Granitic augen gneiss with centimetric K-feldspar porphyroclasts surrounded by discontinuous layers of biotite. The foliation planes are irregularly distributed. It is the coarsest and lightest coloured variety of Serizzo. Mineralogiocal composition: quartz, K-feldspar, plagioclase (An 25-30%), biotite and rare muscovite.
